It goes to the magnificent Great Stechlin Lake, which lies within the Stechlin-Ruppiner Land Nature Park and belongs to the Rheinsberg Lake District. Start is near the Stechlinsee Center. It goes west, parallel to the Uferweg. The Great Stechlinsee is the deepest lake in the state of Brandenburg and has excellent water quality. You walk in the green nature, with a constant view of the water, and you can see that the former Rheinsberg nuclear power plant is nearby. This was the smaller of two nuclear power plants in the GDR and was shut down in 1990. The headland on the way there extends far into the lake. With a bit of luck you can find an idyllic bathing spot all to yourself.
