Stage 18 of the "Wasserläufer-Route" long-distance hiking trail, Bavaria.
Together with the Himmelsstürmer route and the Wiesengaenger route, the Wasserläufer route forms the "Allgäu hiking trilogy", a more than 400 km long network of long-distance hiking trails.
The eighteenth stage is very relaxed with a length of 11 km and is all about the water. It goes from Scheidegg over the Waldsee to Lindenberg in the Allgäu. The undisputed highlight are the Scheidegger waterfalls, which cascade down from more than 40 m in height.
There are places to stay overnight and restaurants. If this section is too short for you, you can hike the nineteenth stage at the same time and expand the route into an almost 25 km long hike (see also Wasserläufer route stage 18a: Scheidegg - Eglofs).
