This is the sixteenth stage of the Wasserläufer Route, which together with the Himmelsstürmer Route and the Wiesengaenger Route form the "Allgäu hiking trilogy".
The starting point of the rather leisurely hike is in Oberreute, from where it goes through romantic forests, a high moor and past several scenic rest areas to Weiler-Simmerberg. The absolute highlight of the route is the picturesque Hausbachklamm, which you hike through on the last few kilometers to the stage destination.
