Sturdy footwear and a good basic level of fitness are recommended for the metres in altitude up to Kircheck. The reward is a spectacular view of Oberammergau and Kofel at the highest point of the tour. There is the possibility to stop off at Berghaus Romanshöhe (closed in November) on the way back via the Altherrenweg trail.
