Tatzelwurm - Brünnstein Summit

Varied circular hike near Bayrischzell in the Upper Bavarian Alps. The view from the peak of Brünnstein and the location of the mountain are incomparable. The view extends to the Kaisergebirge, Hohe Tauern, Großglockner, Großvenediger and Zillertal Alps. The way there starts at the Tatzelwurm forest car park. At the Hotel fiery Tatzelwurm it goes uphill to the beginning of the signs. From there, follow the direction "Oberer Wasserfall". Then the signs marked with red or blue lead to the very beautiful Brünnsteinhütte. The red path is very scenic and pleasant, but there is a decent climb. Arriving at the Brünnsteinhaus, the sun terrace offers a wonderful place to stop for refreshments including a mountain cinema. From there, the red signs continue to the summit of the Brünnstein. This path is very demanding and a partly insured climb, which can still be climbed without special climbing equipment. On the other side of the summit, another route leads down to the Himmelmoos-Alm, on to the Seelacher-Alm and back to the forest car park.
