There are many hiking trails on and around the Wank. This route leads via the Sonnenuhr along the Birkelsgraben to the Sonnenalm. Beautiful views of the panoramic Wank mountain and a nature cinema are waiting here. On the way back, there is a short detour past a waterfall before returning to the starting point in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The route is also ideal as a day trip from Munich. It is possible to arrive and return by train. Garmisch-Partenkirchen is a delightful area, scenic and full of Bavarian charm. The lower section of the hike is wooded, the middle section is a pasture, and the upper section is a combination of forest and open areas.
