The short hike leads from Volkach to the late Gothic pilgrimage church Maria im Weingarten, which is located in the vineyards of the Main Franconian wine-growing region. It houses many valuable works of art, such as the wooden sculpture of the Pietà, which was created around 1370 and is a popular destination for pilgrims. This route can be walked all year round and also invites to take a nice winter walk.
It starts at the parking lot next to the Vinaqua reservoir. On the other side of the Main is the Volkach-Astheim train station, so it is also possible to travel by train.
