This hike once leads around the island of Herreninsel, which lies in Lake Chiemsee. To the starting point, ferries of the Chiemsee Schiffahrt depart regularly (note timetable and prices). From there, you will walk around the island via the visitor center through varied landscapes to the lookout points Otto's Ruh and Paul's Ruh. From there, the magnificent view extends over Lake Chiemsee and into the Chiemgau Alps.
