The path to the Freibergsee Lake via the Höllwiesenweg trail is very rewarding and offers magnificent views of the ski jump, the Freibergsee at the same time.
The hike starts at Oberstdorf train station. From there, the trail leads through forest and mountain meadows towards Söllereck, always accompanied by the fantastic mountain panorama of the Allgäu Alps. From the Na Lake and the Oberstdorf Valleyturhaus Waldesruh, the route climbs steeply for a good stretch. On the plateau, the path leads to the famous Freibergsee Lake, with great views. This is wholly circumnavigated until it goes back downhill to Oberstdorf via Dienersberg.
