The first half of this route through the skiing and hiking area at the Hoernerbahn leads almost continuously uphill through the Bolgenach valley. Great views of the Oberallgaeu mountain peaks almost make you forget all your exertions. You can also stop for refreshments and stay overnight on this loop trail: the Hoernerhaus as well as the Berghaus Schwaben and the Zukleiten Alpe are located along the route (note the seasonal opening times).
