Scenic mountain bike tour in the Estergebirge in the Bavarian Alps.
From the Wankbahn valley station near Garmisch-Partenkirchen, this MTB route first leads up to the Esterbergalm. After conquering several metres in altitude, the view of the Alps and a meal can be enjoyed here. The rest of the tour then leads largely downhill in a wide arc back to Garmisch. It is also possible stop off at the Gschwandtnerbauer after about 20 kilometres.
There are numerous car parks at the starting point at the Wankbahn, but it is possible to get there by train (Garmisch-Partenkirchen train station) and bus (Schützenhaus bus stop).
