A royally challenging mountain bike tour on the Schützensteig/Füssen, Bavaria.
The tour starts at the Morisee car park (subject to charge). The route leads past the royal castles and the magnificent Lech Falls. Some of the steep climbs require a good level of fitness - the section up to the Jägerhütte hut is steep and really tough! And the route down from the Jägerhütte could also be better pushed, depending on experience, as there is a lot of loose scree here. The effort is rewarded by the unique landscape and panorama. At Plansee lake, the route is closed to cyclists as the beach is well used in summer and swimming is a delight due to the excellent water quality.
Refreshments are available at Gasthof Bleckenau and the Jägerhütte hut.
