This promising and challenging hike leads from Rottau to the Gedererwand, also known as the "little sister of the Kampenwand". First, it follows the course of the Rottauer Bach for quite a while before it goes over the Weißenalm, Maueralm and Schmiedalm at altitudes of over 1,000 m. The trail passes the striking rock formation of the Zwölferturm before climbing the last few meters to the Gedererwand.
