Cultural-historical, idyllic circular hike in the Black Forest, Baden-Württemberg.
This beautiful circular route leads through the forests around Oberstrot. Two special sights are Eberstein Castle, which offers wonderful panoramic views over the Murg Valley and the Black Forest, and the 19th-century Antonius Chapel.
The route crosses the beautiful Etzenbach several times. Where the Antonius chapel now stands, there used to be a mighty oak tree with the image of Saint Anthony. The chapel was built in 1851 and was a place of pilgrimage for the countesses of Schloss Eberstein.
The route mainly leads along the edge of the forest and partly follows the Gernsbacher Runde. Goats, birds, cows can be seen on this magnificent scenic route.
