Section of the premium hiking trail Gernsbacher Runde (long-distance hiking trail) in the northern Black Forest, Baden-Wuerttemberg.
The Gernsbacher Runde long-distance hiking trail has been awarded the premium hiking trail seal of the German Hiking Institute. This section of the route can be hiked in around 9 hours. It begins south of Gernsbach and runs along the western side of the city past Staufenberg. First you follow a small zigzag path, but soon you start the hike over tax fruit meadows. You can enjoy the wonderful views of the nearby Eberstein Castle. A detour here is possible and will be rewarded with a Michelin-star restaurant and the Schlossschänke. The hiking sign of the route is the so-called Ebersteiner Rose. It can also be found in the city and municipality coat of arms of the region.
