Beautiful Kandel loop in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park, Baden-Württemberg
This beautiful route runs between Stecklebächle and Kandelbächle. The start is at the caravan park, not far from the Kandelhotel. The route heads west and up the Kandel, Waldkirch's local mountain. It is the highest mountain in the southern Black Forest and in modern times was also known as the Blocksberg of the Black Forest - the lower Elz Valley was one of the centres of witch hunts.
