Best trails near Lagerstein

The tour starts at the train station in Winterberg and first runs through the tourist resort to St. Georgs-Schanze with a wonderful all-round view of the Hochsauerland. A beautiful forest path takes you to the most famous mountain in North Rhine-Westphalia, the Kahler Asten. There you can climb the Astenturm or hike the heir path with its 15 stations and the Lenne spring. Cross the forest to reach the "Helleplatz" car park and from there take the bus back to Winterberg. Near-natural route section in the Sauerland, North Rhine-Westphalia Follow the signs for the Winterberger Hochtour uphill to the saddle between Rösberg and Alte Grimme. Where you meet the Elkeringhausen-Glindfeld hiking trail (white square), follow it to the saddle. There you follow the marking E4 to the right and hike to the summit of the Altes Grimme. It goes a bit through the beautiful Orketal and then south over the crater head to Züschen. There are places to stop for refreshments...
