This picturesque and historic loop leads through the upper Rur Valley in the heart of the Northern Eifel. The trail opens up the deeply carved valleys around the historic cloth-making town of Monschau and runs along a mixture of natural riverside paths along the Rur, narrow forest trails, and panoramic routes on the rocky slopes. This is a hike or recommended bike ride (due to the total length) of Düren direction Untermaubach and back. The hike recalls the industrialization of the residents of the Rur.
