This picturesque and historic loop leads through the upper Rur Valley in the heart of the Northern Eifel. The trail opens up the deeply carved valleys around the historic cloth-making town of Monschau and runs along a mixture of natural riverside paths along the Rur, narrow forest trails, and panoramic routes on the rocky slopes. A central highlight is the view of the slate houses of Monschau and the unspoiled nature of the Perlenbach and Rur valleys, where the river still splashes wildly over stones.
