Best trails near Übungswand

The scenic loop ascends through the mountain forests above Ohlstadt toward the Kleiner Illing viewpoint in the Bavarian Prealps. Forest tracks lead hikers past the rocky outcrop of Veste Schaumburg, where stone remnants of a medieval fortress rest among the trees. From the summit ledge, open views extend across the Loisach valley and the vast wetlands of the Murnauer Moos toward the Ammergau Alps. The return path follows a shaded trail alongside the rushing Kaltwasserfall streams.
