Here you have a beautiful view over the lake and an idyllic place to rest before heading up the rather steep Maximilianweg to the Saloberalpe. This route follows stage 6 of the Maximiliansweg, a long-distance trail through Germany and Austria, beginning in Unterjoch and ending in Füssen. The path descends into the Vils valley, tracking the river past Schranzschrofen and across the Austrian border toward Pfronten-Ried. It climbs the Zirmgrat ridge past the high medieval Falkenstein castle ruins, offering panoramic views of the Tannheim Mountains and the Füssen lakes before descending past the Alatsee and Faulenbach to Füssen....
