It was a great reminder of why Seoraksan National Park is the best park in Korea! I honestly didn't like the Oksaek course, but it was cool and nice to follow the valley, and from there it was a really nice walk down to Bisundae.

I took a pretty extended break up on the summit, but I’d say 3.5 hours is still a reasonable expectation for this hike. It really is a pretty mild grade up until the last ~0.6km where it turns into entirely staircases attached to the rock wall. The apex of the hike is rewarding, with great views of seoraksan, sokcho and the sea, and of the rock features. I’d say it’s a pretty doable hike for most, especially with breaks along the staircase section. I really this hike is better categorized as moderate than hard, so don’t let that deter you. AllTrails really does need a fourth category of hike that includes an upper echelon of difficulty, because the fact that this trail and the 14 mile dinosaur ridge loop are the same difficulty is perplexing. That personal gripe aside, this is a good hike and it’s easy to understand why it is a staple for the park.

Very enjoyable trail that follows a mountain stream on a well maintained path to Bisondae Rock. Plenty of nice river and peak views on the way. You’re in for a treat if you tack on the extra hike to the cave - the views up here are absolutely spellbinding and very much worth the lung busting climb up the steps. Overall, this hike has a lot of bang for its buck as probably the easier of three day hikes at this end of Seoraksan

This was the road to the Yangpok Shelter from the entrance to Seoraksan park. This was only the way there, take into account that the way back would also be around 2hours.
