The Teutoburg Forest/Eggegebirge Nature Park was founded in 1965 and covers an area of 2736 square kilometers in the northeast of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is the sixth largest park in Germany and the second largest park in the federal state. Part of the nature park is the Teutoburg Forest, but the area is much larger and includes other nature conservation and forest areas.
