This is a moderate to hard walk following along a rabbit-proof fence. The track is open and clear most of the way, apart from patches of raspberry bush near the top. However, the last 1.5 km is very steep, around 30 - 40 degrees on very loose volcanic soil and leaves. Two steps forward, one slide back. No views from the top but a few points have views on the way up.
