Best partially-paved trails in Ilmenau

Watery hike near Langewiesen, Thuringia. This hike begins in Langewiesen at the Liebfrauenkirche. From here it first goes in a southeasterly direction to the Heideteich, further across the water lily pond and finally to the Großer Badeteich. This close-to-nature hike is particularly well suited to exploring the flora and fauna of these water-rich ecosystems. The route can be reached by bus and train (starting and finishing point is the Rathaus bus stop in Langenwiesen).

Varied hike in Thuringia. From Ilmenau, follow the Ilm and Luther Trail in the direction of Gehren and Paulinzella. The hike leads once around the Brandenberg. The Paulinzella monastery invites you to rest, where there is a small museum that can be visited. You can also take a short break in Singen, where the historic Schmitt brewery is located. Finally you follow the Ilmradweg back to Ilmenau.
