Best river trails in Üdersdorf

The motto of this route is water and rocks. This is impressively fulfilled on the entire route. The lumps of basalt in the Löhley on one side and the refreshing mineral water in the Liesertal on the other are trademarks of the region's volcanic past. The chunks in particular give an idea of the forces that must have acted on each other in the fight between fire and water. The Liesertal, on the other hand, is wildly romantic throughout.

A varied round in the Vulkaneifel, which connects Üdersdorf, Tettscheid and Brockscheid and is marked with the hiking sign "DW". It goes through forests, over idyllic meadows and fields, along reservoirs and over the Lieser, a tributary of the Moselle. To the east of Üdersdorf you start the hike on the Lieser path, which runs parallel to the Lieser, which you cross a few times along the way. Right at the start of the route you have the option of taking a small turnoff to the Tellerley viewpoint, which looks out over the lava quarry at Udersdorf. If you continue walking the route, you will eventually reach the Lieserblick and the Geisenburg ruins. Then you hike the Lieserpfad back to the starting point.
