Best scenic driving trails in Herne

Mainly on separate bike, field and forest paths, sometimes also on trails. Mostly through the green, through the green belts, nature reserves and parks between the cities of Herne, Bochum, Castrop, Witten, Dortumund. The starting point is the Gysenberg in Herne, e.g. the parking lot at the ice rink. Through the forest of the Gysenbergpark uphill, over the Bövinghauser Hellweg north past BO-Gerthe, behind the twin water towers downhill towards Castrop, shortly before Merklinde right, past horse farms towards DO-Bövinghausen, through residential areas and past the train station to the Zollern colliery, shortly afterwards on dirt roads down into Dellwigtal, then north over Brandheide to Castrop-Frohlinde,...
