From the charming little village of Pöppenhausen, the route follows the River Emscher through the Brandheide in the north of the municipality. Alternatively, the route can also be started at the Emscherland parking lot for more parking options. This makes the route slightly longer. From the parking lot in Bochumer Str. And first go through the Langeloher forest. Then through the fields towards Erin Park. From the heap in Erin Park you have a beautiful view over Castrop-Rauxel. From the Langeloh car park, head towards the Ölbachtal. Through the Ölbachtal it goes partly on muddy paths in the direction of Bövinghausen. Here it goes briefly through a settlement before you come to the Wagenbruch landscape protection area. Now it goes through fields and pastures back to the parking lot.
