This route follows Stage 2 of the SalzAlpenSteig, climbing from Grassau to the Brachtalm on a noticeably more demanding day than the opening stage. The path starts at the Museum Salz und Moor between Rottau and Grassau and leads once around the Kendlmühlfilzen. You usually walk on the old embankment of the peat railway. The hike is particularly recommended in spring, when the marsh marigolds are in bloom and there is still snow on the surrounding mountains.
