Refreshing hiking trail in Eschenlohe, Bavaria. This picturesque route leads from Eschenlohe through the Eschenlain valley to Lake Walchensee. This is one of the deepest and largest alpine lakes in Germany. It is therefore worth making a detour to or even around the lake. The hike can easily be started from Eschenlohe train station. The Zundereck is located on the ridge that bounds the Kistenkar to the west. The tour requires good orientation skills in steep alpine terrain, but rewards with impressive views of the Pfrühlmoos below in the west and the Kistenkar below to the east. Although the tour is not pathless, the existing climbs lead through terrain that is sometimes at risk of falling or slipping, so the hike is to be rated as T4 and should only be done by experienced hikers.
