Popular loop trail in the Southern Black Forest Nature Park, Baden-Wuerttemberg. This is a beautiful hike that leads from the Schiltach through the romantic hilly landscape of the southern Black Forest to the ruins of Waldau Castle. There are several inns near the route that invite you to stop for refreshments in a rustic atmosphere (see waypoints on the map). The route runs over long distances in the forest with some beautiful viewpoints. There are two longer climbs from Kinzigtal to Adelsberg and from Naturfreundehaus to the hamlet of Brandsteig. Steep descent to Schramberg. Alpirsbach also has a very worth seeing town center and on the way you encounter some historical highlights, such as the remains of a Roman control station.

The trail navigates the Purpen heights, connecting the Remsbach valley with the surrounding elevations in the Tennenbronn region. Sections of the route feature paved asphalt near the start, transitioning into natural soil tracks and crushed stone paths within the woodland. Openings in the forest canopy reveal views of the surrounding valleys and the distant Swabian Alb.
