Elbe Cycle Route Stage P: Schmilka - Litoměřice

Left-hand section of the Elbe Cycle Route This section is considered one of the most beautiful sections of the Elbe Cycle Route. The route is accompanied by the impressive rocky landscapes of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park and the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and finally leads through the Elbe Bend. This section of the route also has a lot to offer in terms of history. At the confluence of the Elbe with Ploučnice there is an imposing castle, Střekov Castle is passed and the historic bishop's town of Litoměřice at the confluence of the Elbe (Labe) with Ohře and at the foot of the volcanic Bohemian low mountain range is a highlight of the tour. This route runs on the left side of the river Elbe. It is also possible to ride on the eastern side (right bank).
