This circular trail starts and ends at the Lichtenhain waterfall car park, which is subject to a charge. The trail leads uphill via the Flößersteig trail through the Knechtsbachtal valley and finally via the Ottendorfer Steig trail. The route continues up and down past the Felsenmühle restaurant to the "Kuhstall". This is a huge rock gate at the foot of the Himmelsleiter. The Himmelsleiter leads over narrow steps through a narrow crevice steeply uphill to the Neuer Wildenstein. You will be rewarded for your efforts with a breathtaking view of Saxon-Bohemian Switzerland. You return to the starting point via the popular Kuhstallstrasse.
