The route leads from the car park with a viewpoint, past the Bismarck Tower, into the Teutoburg Forest. The route follows the forest nature trail via narrow "climbing paths", forest paths and tarmac farm tracks to the forest outdoor pool. The route then leads through the spa gardens to the market square. The last section runs past the open-air theatre back to the car park. Although the route is not particularly long, you should be a good walker as some of the paths are very steep and narrow. Particular care should be taken when the ground is wet.
