Certified, cultural-historical premium walking trail in Tecklenburger Land, North Rhine-Westphalia. On this circular route, the name says it all: you follow in the footsteps of the painter Modersohn through the old town of Tecklenburg, past the castle ruins and around the spa gardens. Sturdy shoes and sure-footedness are required. Highlights of the walk: - Herb garden - Witches' kitchen - spa gardens - Tecklenburg Castle

The route leads from the car park with a viewpoint, past the Bismarck Tower, into the Teutoburg Forest. The route follows the forest nature trail via narrow "climbing paths", forest paths and tarmac farm tracks to the forest outdoor pool. The route then leads through the spa gardens to the market square. The last section runs past the open-air theatre back to the car park. Although the route is not particularly long, you should be a good walker as some of the paths are very steep and narrow....

Cyclists: The route can still be followed by bike as far as the Bocketal valley. In the Teutoburg Forest, this is only possible with special bikes and in dry weather.
