Start in Mittenwald near the Karwendelbahn valley station. The trail climbs steadily uphill past the abandoned Rehbergalm. From here, the really scenic part of the trail begins with marvellous views of the Karwendel mountains. Continue to the serviced Hochlandhütte (1,623 m), which invites you to linger and of course enjoy the magnificent view of the surrounding northern Karwendel peaks. After a well-earned rest, the route zigzags steeply up to the highest point: the Wörnersattel at 1,989 metres. The descent is via the Ochsensteig trail back to the starting point of the route.
