Challenging MTB Karwendel tour around the Karwendel peaks near Mittenwald, Bavaria.
The route begins through the Riedboden nature reserve and continues to Scharnitz and the entrance to the Karwendel valley. The steep ascent to the Karwendelhaus (open seasonally) soon begins along the Karwendelbach stream. Here is a great stop for a bite to eat. From there it is not far to the Hochalmsattel before a fun descent to the small Ahornboden waits. Via the Johannistal valley to Hinterriss and soon the next ascent to the Vereiner Alm begins, where a break to enjoy the view is perfect. Now it's down to MIttenwald and back to the starting point of the route.
