Loop trail Zandt - Pfahlhof - Zandt (Za02)

Family-friendly circular hike in the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park, Bavaria. The Pfahlhof is a lovely hiking destination for the whole family. There are lots of animals to pet and a large trampoline for the children to let off steam, while the adults enjoy a cold beer in the beer garden at the "Blasini" country inn. You start in the centre of the village at the hiking board by the tourist information office and follow the markings in a southerly direction along Harrlinger Straße until you reach the Trosterauweg junction. Here you immediately turn right onto the forest path. After a section of forest, you reach a wood processing plant, where you keep left towards the main road. Continue right until you reach Riedhof. At the Riedbach bridge, turn left before the hill onto a forest path towards Pfahlhof. An educational forest trail accompanies you, with informative information boards telling you lots of interesting facts about the forest and the Pfahl (a quartz rock). The "Himmelsstiege", a steep staircase, leads to the highest point of the "Pfahl", a geologically interesting quartz rock that dominates the Bavarian Forest over a length of approx. 150 metres. Forest over a length of approx. 150 km. You can rest comfortably at the seating area and enjoy the view. The "Pandurensteig" trail also runs here. There are two ways to hike to the Pfahlhof. Either along the Pandurensteig trail along the Pfahl to the junction to Wolfersdorf and then follow the markings to the left towards the Pfahl or, at the Himmelstiege, continue along the forest path suitable for pushchairs along the forest nature trail to the "Pfahlhof", a cosy country inn. It's worth stopping for a bite to eat, even if the path has not been difficult up to this point. The markings take you past the sewage treatment plant and holiday village back to the starting point.
