Königssee zum Funtensee

• Access Information Kärlingerhaus: The Kärlingerhaus is open from May 22 to October 4. Overnight stays must be reserved in advance through the online booking portal. Only cash is accepted on-site. The tour begins with a leisurely crossing of the Königssee by boat to the Salet landing stage (note the timetable, see tips). The route is a little more challenging in places, but offers great views. From the landing stage, the route climbs gently along the shores of Königssee and Obersee through shady forest to the idyllic Fischunkel Alm at the southern end of the lake. The trail continues uphill to the next highlight - the Röthbach Falls. The trail continues along the steep, quite narrow and sometimes exposed Röthsteig trail to the Röthbachsee lake and the Wasseralm hut. From there, the final ascent to the highest point, the 2368-high Niederbrunnsulzenscharte, awaits. Accompanied by the magnificent panorama, the gentle descent begins to the destination - the Funtensee and the seasonally managed Kärlingerhaus.
