Kärlingerhaus to the Carl von Stahl House

This hike is the longest usual hut crossing in the Berchtesgadener Land. The Kärlingerhaus, which is open during the summer months, is located on the beautiful Funtensee lake in the Steinernes Meer. From there, the trail climbs up into Hochtal before descending steeply down the Himmelsleiter towards Grünsee and Schwarzsee on the signposted trail 416. The route continues relaxed and fairly flat through forest and alpine pastures to the catered Wasseralm and the Obersee viewpoint. Here you have to walk uphill a good way through the forest and through the Landtalgraben to the Hochgeschirr. Part of the route runs along a path secured by a wire rope. Head northwards downhill on the marked path 416 to the Seeleinsee lake. On the last section to the Carl-von-Stahl-Haus, you pass the Windscharte and the imposing, panoramic summit of the Schneibstein.
