Despite its proximity to the well-known Stepbergalm, the ascent to the Hohe Ziegspitz is a real "insider tip". With breathtaking panoramic views of the Karwendel, Alpspitze, Zugspitze massif and the Ammergau Alps, the summit offers a cosy and rarely frequented vantage point. A very beautiful, pleasant walk back rounds off this scenic mountain tour. The starting point is the car park at the mountain hut. From there, gravel paths and then classic hiking trails, some with an alpine character, lead uphill. As the route is partly north-facing, you should expect wet paths and remnants of snow. You can stop for refreshments at the Stepbergalm and in the mountain hut at the starting point.
