Starting in the valley village of Hammersbach, this circular route explores the mountain scenery at the base of the Zugspitze massif. Upward paths lead past the Kreuzeck toward the high saddle of Hupfleitenjoch, revealing views across the Wetterstein peaks. The route passes the historic Knappenhäuser, former lodgings from nineteenth-century mining operations, before descending into the alpine basin of the Höllentalangerhütte. The trail continues through the Höllentalklamm, where rushing waters carve through narrow limestone walls. Secured steel cables provide support along exposed cliffside stretches.
