Varied hiking trail in Grainau, Bavaria.
The starting point is the Zugspitze cable car station in Grainau. The Eibsee is a crystal-clear lake with numerous small islands. The "Schwarze Wand" rock formation is visible around the lake, while the Wetterstein massif rises to the south. On a clear day, you can even see as far as the Zugspitze, even from the northern shore of the lake. The trail initially leads along wide paths through dense forest to the Badersee lake. Continue along the sports field and past meadows to the Christelhütte. From here, the path winds gently up to the Eibsee and the Eibsee pavilion. On the southern shore, there are jetties and pebble beaches that are perfect for sunbathing. On the flatter northern shore there is a nudist beach and a small island on the Braxensee. Here you can enjoy a wonderful view of the lake and the Wetterstein massif. From the Eibsee, you can take the same route back to the starting point of the tour or take the cog railway back for a small price.
