Best trails near Bärenriegel

This route starts in Rimbach and leads to the nearby peaks of the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park. The peaks along the way include the Farrenruck, the Bärenriegel, the Eckstein, the Schwarzriegel and the Ahornreigel. There are several places to stop for refreshments along the way and many great views.

From the tourist information centre, cross the main road and walk along Hohenbogenstraße. Shortly after the Hohenbogen holiday hotel, turn half-right and walk straight on uphill to the edge of the forest. From here, steep and flat sections alternate until you reach a rest area with a fountain. From the Ahornriegel mountain station on a somewhat slippery path to the Hoher Bogen mountain inn and then on the road down to Madersdorf.

It runs through the Upper Bavarian Forest Nature Park. You hike from the Hoher Bogen via the Großer Osser to the Kleiner Arber.
