Best trails near Ahornspitze

Challenging section of route in the Ammergebirge nature reserve, Bavaria The second stage of the Himmelsstürmer route leads over the Kenzelsattel and Niederstraußbergsattel to the Tegelberghaus. On the way, you also pass the Ahornspitze and the Branderfleck. At the end of the stage, you have the option of taking the Tegelberg cable car down into the valley to Schwangau. Stage 5 of the long-distance hiking trail "Wasserläufer-Route", Baden-Württemberg/Bavaria. This is the fifth stage of the Water Strider Route, one of the three main routes of the "Allgäu Hiking Trilogy". This hike takes you from one mountain hut to the next: the stage begins at the Kenzenhütte and ends at the Tegelberghaus. 3-4 day ridge hike. Most of the route leads over the ridge and is a real pleasure in fine weather. Start at Füssen Tegelbergbahn. 1st hut Kenzenhütte (great hut food, room, bathroom) 2nd hut Brunnenkopfaus 3rd hut Alfred Schuster Haus (rustic hut, with very modest washing facilities). Destination Oberammergau. Please note that the return journey to Füssen by public transport is not easy. During the school holidays in Bavaria, the buses are even less frequent.
