This stage offers a lot of variety. If you initially hike comfortably along the Faulenbach, you will soon be going uphill to the German-Austrian state border. A short section secured with wire ropes takes you over the Zirmgrat to the Falkenstein, the highest castle ruins in Germany, from where you can enjoy wonderful views of the foothills of the Alps and the Tannheim mountains. 3-4 day ridge hike. Most of the route leads over the ridge and is a real pleasure in fine weather. Start at Füssen Tegelbergbahn. 1st hut Kenzenhütte (great hut food, room, bathroom) 2nd hut Brunnenkopfaus 3rd hut Alfred Schuster Haus (rustic hut, with very modest washing facilities).
