Refreshing hiking trail in Eschenlohe, Bavaria. This picturesque route leads from Eschenlohe through the Eschenlain valley to Lake Walchensee. This is one of the deepest and largest alpine lakes in Germany. It is therefore worth making a detour to or even around the lake. The hike can easily be started from Eschenlohe railway station. The Zundereck is located on the ridge bordering the Kistenkar to the west. The tour requires good orientation skills in steep alpine terrain, but rewards you with impressive views of the Pfrühlmoos to the west below and the Kistenkar to the east below. Although the tour is not pathless, the existing paths lead through terrain that can be dangerous in terms of falling or slipping, so the hike is rated T4 and should only be undertaken by experienced hikers.
