Maritime city walk at the port of Hamburg This wonderful tour through the port of Hamburg leads past some of the most important sights of the Hanseatic city. From the Reeperbahn it goes through the St. Pauli Elbtunnel ("Alter Elbtunnel") at the landing bridges and through the port area on the south bank of the Norderelbe. A bridge leads to the modern HafenCity with the Elbphilharmonie, Hamburg's newest landmark. A stark contrast emerges shortly afterwards when crossing the historic warehouse district. The world's largest historical warehouse complex is on the list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Depending on your interests, a wide variety of museums, exhibitions, restaurants and cafés invite you to take part in individual cultural and culinary tours of discovery. The walk, which can be easily reached by bus and train, takes about 4 hours. There are countless places to stop for a break.
