Radtour: Hamburg Hbf bis Lüneburg Bhf

Beautiful cycle tour from Hamburg to Lüneburg through the Vier- und Marschlande with a ferry ride across the Elbe and on along the Ilmenau Canal. Mostly quiet paths, also suitable for children, hardly any elevation gain (only dikes and bridges). Surface: asphalt except for a few hundred meters of sand on the Stöckter dyke and a few kilometers between St. Dionys and Bardowick as well as Bardowick and Lüneburg. These sections should only be bypassed on the road in extremely muddy weather and are normally of good quality. Suitable for recumbent bikes throughout; multi-track bikes and trailers should cycle approx. 2 km along the Marschbahndamm (2 concrete lanes) and avoid the lane directly along the Ilmenau Canal between Oldershausen and the Wilhelmsbrücke bridge via Schlaugenweg (from Oldershausen), then turn right at the sign to Wittorf. Picnic: About halfway along the route, there is a playground with a barbecue, a small roof as weather protection and tables and benches on the Marschbahndamm at the bend towards "Auf dem Sülzbrack". --- Refreshment stops Accessible by bus and train
