Great GeoRoute in the Thuringian Forest.
A wonderful and very varied hike that focuses on the geological features here in the Thuringian Forest. In particular, it focuses on the region's long mining tradition. Overnight accommodation and refreshment stops are available in the villages.
The start is at the gypsum quarry in Knittelsthal. It is possible to get here by bus. Gräfenhain is close to the destination. The bus to Friedrichroda can be taken from here.
